14 Year Old Graduates From College!!!!

Most 14 year olds today are texting their friends, downloading music, and  worrying about what they will wear for their first day of high school. However, in Great Lakes, Illinois, Thessalonika Arzu-Embry is worrying about what her next move will be once she graduates this summer with her undergrad degree.

Yes, you read that right! 14 year Thessalonika will receive her bachelors degree in Psychology from Chicago University.  Did we mention she graduating with a 3.9 GPA and is a member of her schools  honor society where she serves as student senator. She even started studying for her college entrance exam at age 11!  

I know what you're thinking! Going to college at 14 must have been rough! However, Thessalonika said it was just a normal experience for her.

“My college experience is a traditional college experience for me….it is just that I have completed it much faster,” she explained. “I am very excited about joining others in having the opportunity to contribute to society in a significant way.”

Thessalonika said she is motivated by her mom, who is a United States Navy veteran , who home schooled her and always encouraged her to pursue her education and dreams! After she receives her degree Thessalonika once to pursue  a graduate degree in Clinical Psychology at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago and Stanford University.
