Ebony Magazine Dedicates September Issue To Trayvon Martin

After the heartbreaking "not guilty" verdict in the Trayvon Martin case, supporters have been determined not to let his legacy or the tragedy that took his life be forgotten. In support of the "We Are All Trayvon" movement EBONY magazine has dedicated four covers to Trayvon Martin in an attempt to find solutions to "Save Our Sons."

EBONY subscribers will receive the main issue with a picture of Trayvon's family including his mother Sybrina Fulton, brother Jahvaris Fulton, and father Tracy Martin. The other covers feature celebrity fathers Dwayne Wade with his sons Zaire and Zion, Spike Lee and his son Jackson, and Boris Kodjoe and his son Nicholas dressed in hoodies in remembrance of Trayvon. In the issue Ebony interviews Tracy Martin, features a poem for Trayvon by Jill Scott, provides information on the "Trayvon's Law",  gives a reflection from 17-year-old men on how they feel to be black in America, and much more.  In regards to the September issue, Editor-in-Chief Amy Barnett put out this statement:

"As a mother of a young Black boy, the tragedy of Trayvon Martin affected me deeply. We simply cannot allow the conversations on this issue to come to a standstill. As the leading source for an authoritative perspective on the African American community, at EBONY we are committed to serving as a hub for Black America to explore solutions, and to giving readers the information and tools they need to help ensure a bright future for all of our children."

Much respect to EBONY magazine for continuing the conversation of the Trayvon Martin case. The issue drops today so make sure you go out and support. We know we will!
