|SASSY SNACKS| Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Caramel Apples!!

Did you know that October is National Apple Month?!!! So Team SASS has decided to dedicate SASSY SNACKS to apples for the entire month, and don't worry these recipes won't be boring because everything we do is done with a dash of SASS!

So to give you a sneak peak of what we have in store for October SASSY SNACKS we would like to give you Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Caramel Apples courtesy of!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Caramel Apples

(12) small apples
(1) pound box dark brown sugar
(1) can NESTLE La Lechera: Flavored Dipping Sauce (Dulce De Leche) Thick Caramel
(1) cup light corn syrup
(1) cup (2 sticks) butter
(1) teaspoon vanilla extract
(1) Container of Nestle Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
(1) wax paper

(1) pack of cupcake holders

1. Grease a large baking pan with butter. Set aside!
2. Clean and dry apples well. Remove the apple stems and carefully punch a guide hole for the Popsicle sticks with a knife or skewer. Insert sticks into guide holes. Lift each apple to make sure each apple can securely be picked up.
3. For the CARAMEL, combine La Lechera, corn syrup, and butter in medium pan over medium-low heat. Stir frequently for 10 minutes or until sugar has dissolved. Increase heat to medium; cook, stirring frequently, for about 20 minutes. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla extract.
4. Dip apples into caramel and allow to set for 1 hour.
5. For the COOKIE DOUGH, roll cookie dough as flat as you can onto wax paper. Chill the dough for 20 minutes then cut into strips.
6. Place the dough onto the caramel apple and press it on firmly. The dough will spread around the apple as you press. Tuck the excess dough under the apple.
7.Refrigerate for 1 hour and serve in cute cupcake papers.
