"History In The Making!!"

Today history was made!! Cory Booker became the first African American to represent the state of  New Jersey in the United States Senate!

The 44-year-old Yale University alum officially took his oath of office earlier this week! With the help of Vice President Joe Biden, the former mayor of Newark (he resigned this week!) took his oath in the Old Senate Chambers at the U.S. Capital in Washington, D.C.

He was joined by his beautiful 60-year-old grandmother who watched on proudly. This moment was definitely bitter sweet for Senator Booker. His father, Carey, passed away in early October and didn't get to see his son physically make history. However, we are sure that his presence was felt during the ceremony.

We would like to congratulate Senator Booker on his amazing accomplishment! We can't wait to see what he will do for the state of New Jersey! Events like this truly inspire us and constantly remind us that the sky is definitely the limit!

Side SASS: Senator Booker beat former Senator and Republican business man Steve Lonegan by 55% of the votes! He won...literally!
