"And The New Face Of Givenchy Is..."

It's official! Givenchy has just announced the newest muse for his fashion brand and you will never believe who it is!!!

No your eyes are not playing tricks on you that is definitely Ms. Erykah Badu!! This has to be one of the most unexpected celebrity endorsements of a luxe brand ever, but we are so here for it! Riccardo Tisci, creative director of Givenchy couldn't wait to share with the world via Instagram his newest "muse" and "model" for the brand's upcoming Spring 2014 campaign, but do you blame him!!

The surprising reveal definitely shook up the fashion world. He recently told from Paris that he choose Ms. Badu because she is an icon:

"Erykah, she's an icon--come on! What I want to do with my advertising campaign is spread the love.  Already now it's been three seasons that I've been using people that express something--they are great artist, or beautiful women, or stylish women, or models that I really believe in. It's kind of a family portfolio."

On her being the muse behind the Spring 2014 line:

"She's one of the most stylish women I've met in my life. She's got such a good sense of proportions, of color."

Who knew that Ms. Badu slayed on the low?! Who knew that Riccardo Tisci was such a Badu fan?! We guess you should never judge a book by it's cover because these two are definitely surprising us!

Riccardo Tisci also talked about the noticeable change in the fashion world's interest in black women:

"There was a lot of talk this season in fashion. Me, I was one of the persons who ended up not being touched by this. I discovered Joan Smalls, I discovered Maria [Borges]. I discovered a lot of black girls, and I've been always supporting them. For me I grew up in a culture, an education, that we all are the same. At the end of the day, why are not so many black girls or Latin girls in shows? When you have an American president who is black! When I see this happening, it's quite sad, I think. People can be so avant-garde, so advanced, but actually not, because people are still making differences between skin color."

We absolutely love this! We can't wait to see what Ms. Badu will inspire for the luxe brand! We hope more fashion brands will step out of the box and support black women in fashion! We would love to see more "Black Girls Who Rock" werking the runway!

Side SASS: Ciara is also a muse for Givenchy as well!
